Ontario will be the first province in Canada to provide sign language courses in both official languages.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says the optional courses will begin in the fall at secondary schools.
He says the courses will provide students with the opportunity to develop new language and conversation skills, and gain an understanding of different cultures.
