Age Friendly Program extended in Elliot Lake

With active COVID-19 cases recently confirmed in the Elliot Lake, Algoma, and neighbouring Sudbury regions, a supportive program will continue for the next few months.

With the continued risk of exposure and community spread and vaccinations beginning in the city, council has agreed to extend the Age Friendly Delivers Program for another three months.

Economic development manager Ashten Vlahovich says there are several regular users who access assistance for grocery and medical deliveries through the program.

Fifty-eight individuals and/or families have accessed the service over 20 times since the program was implemented a year ago, at the beginning of the pandemic.
