Lions launch senior ski program

The Espanola Lions Club is pleased once again to sponsor free skiing for local Seniors 50+ at Boogie Mountain. There will be a few changes because of COVID. The hill will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00. You are required to phone ahead and also to indicate whether you need rentals. Rentals and your tow pass are free. The Massey Agricultural Society is giving away food to those who need it this Saturday, Feb 27th at 10:30am at the Massey Fairgrounds. For pickup, people must stay in their vehicles and be wearing a mask following COVID-19 protocols. The gates will open for the drive-thru at 10:30 am at the Imperial Street North location. If you want to volunteer, arrive by 8:30am at the fairgrounds.

All March long you can call the Massey or Webbwood libraries to organize a pickup time to get your kit. If you do your name will be entered into a monthly draw. Remembering Charisse – tombstone and billboard unveiling tomorrow in Sagamok

Charlene Owl will unveil a memorial billboard tomorrow and lay the tombstone for her daughter. Charlene Ann Owl’s daughter, Charisse, died in November from an overdose. A mother of four children, she was only 28. Charlene announced a $2,000 reward earlier this month for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual that sold the heroin, which led to her death. She says the reward is now $3,000. Supporters are also assisting her in organizing a Prayer Walk…
