Stare down bullying – wear pink

Students under the Rainbow board go through an annual ritual on Thursday.   They’re asked to wear something pink as area schools celebrate Stand Up to Bullying Day.  Education Director Norm Blaseg says the gesture shows the board is committed to keeping its schools safe.  The event has its origins in Nova Scotia where two high school students got fellow students to wear pink after a student was bullied for wearing pink.  Word of what happened spread, and now many schools have their own Stand Up to Bullying events across Canada.
