Area hospitals get infrastructure grants

The Manitoulin Health Centre is getting about $435,000 for infrastructure improvements.  The money is from the Ministry of Health as it doles out almost $15-million to the 22 hospitals across the northeast.  Also on the receiving end for improvements are the Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre which gets almost $385,000 and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elliot Lake which is earmarked to receive almost $345,000.

Meanwhile, $40,000 is headed to the Blind River District Health Centre.  Hospitals are getting the money to replace or upgrade things like fire alarm systems, windows, lighting and ventilation.
