East Algoma OPP are warning merchants to be on the lookout for bogus American $50 bills. The funny money turned up at several shops in Elliot Lake, Spanish and Blind River. To ensure your business doesn’t become a victim, police say take a close look at bills to determine they’re not counterfeit.
Real money has hidden images and they’re visible when you look for them. Also tilting real currency produces a colour change and the real McCoy also has raised ink which you can feel by running your fingers across the bill.
