It’s taken a while, but Algoma has its first confirmed case of influenza. Lab tests have confirmed the “A” strain of the virus. Algoma Public Health made the announcement but doesn’t say where in the district the flu turned up. The health unit says even though we are well into flu season, people can still vaccinate themselves against the virus with a flu shot.
