Espanola Lions Club shares Catch the Ace funds with Espanola Snowmobile Club

It is midsummer, and while most of us are pursuing summer activities, some dedicated volunteers are getting ready for winter.
Espanola Lions Club member, Grant Lewis, says members of the Espanola Snowmobile Club are brushing trails, clearing fallen trees and getting land permits from private landowners to ensure the local area snow machine trails are ready.
He says the club shared the “Catch the Ace Pot” this round and received $8,700 for their efforts. Lewis says the funds will be used to build a warming shed near Spanish, improve fire pits, and construct a new one at the west end of Panache, as well as install security cameras for those sites.
He points out that there are just over 400 paid permit holders to help with expenses locally, so the funding will go a long way.
