The Elliot Lake Fire Department responded to a garage fire in the city on Friday afternoon.
Fire Chief John Thomas says that around 1:30 p.m., the fire department received a 911 call for a garage fire at 8A Washington Crescent.
Upon arrival on the scene, he says the fire fighters reported heavy fire and smoke conditions.
Thomas adds the fire was brought under control within minutes, but there was heavy damage to the structure and vehicles.
He says there were no injuries to report, the cause of the fire was deemed accidental, and the damage is estimated at $45,000.
