Cambrian College wins medals at Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition

For the sixth year in a row, students at Cambrian College have reached this podium at the annual Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition, which was held in Collingwood last week.

Jana Irvine, a second-year student in Cambrian’s Business program, was a double winner winning gold in the Entrepreneurship Case category along with teammate Serenity Allan-Leeson, as well as capturing a silver in the Job Interview category.

This year’s medal count brings to 10 (2 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze) the number won by Team Cambrian since 2018.

Several other special awards even including the new best school mascot accolades, were also presented this year.

Pauline Rementilla, a second-year Business student from the Philippines, was chosen for the OCMC Lydiatt Award, which is given to a student who best demonstrates the values of the competition including teamwork, support of others, integrity, and overcoming adversity.

A new feature to this year’s OCMC was the Mascot Award, given out to the best school mascot. Patrick Jane, a second-year Business student from St. Catharines, earned the award for Cambrian, donning the Burnie the Dragon suit and putting on a dance routine that took home the top prize.
