An Espanola woman went dry this month to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Jocelyne Bousquet of Espanola says she enjoys her beverages adding giving up alcohol is nothing compared to what fighting cancer must be like.
To that end she took part in the society’s DryFeb initiative and was successful in reaching her goal of raising $606, $100 more than her goal of $500, for the society.
She adds the support shown for those who struggle with alcohol addiction is amazing and it has been quite an eye-opener reading about their daily struggles, but it also made her feel good that she could give some support to those who need it.
Bousquet plans to do it again next February.
