The Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has now laid additional charges in connection with a sexual assault investigation that began on December 28th.
Constable Tessa Kasch says the investigation is now being conducted under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and the OPP Manitoulin Crime Unit.
She adds the 29-year-old man from Lively has been charged with three counts of kidnapping ad three counts of an indecent act in a public place.
Kasch adds the man was charged with two counts of sexual assault of a person under 16, two counts of sexual interference, three counts of forcible confinement, and assault with a weapon last week.
She says the accused was held for a bail hearing and is to appear in Sudbury court on January 6th.
