It was a grand opening of a different kind.
Elliot Lake Mayor Dan Marchisella was on hand for the grand opening of a new Pizza Hut franchise on Ontario Avenue yesterday, but instead of just ribbons, he also cut pepperoni, peppers and other pizza ingredients.
Franchise regional manager Krunal Patel says the new franchise is a family operation, but they have also created six new jobs with plans to create three new ones once they can fully open.
Marchisella thanked them for establishing their business in Elliot Lake and for the pizza lesson.
