A Manitoulin Island photographer is one of this year’s winners of Canadian Geographic.
Peter Baumgarten was named the winner of the Epic Landscapes category of the national awards for 2021.
His photo features streaks of sunlit clouds over Providence Bay that echo the Island’s unique stratified rock formations.
Baumgarten is known for his photography work throughout the Island and this latest recognition as one of Canadian Geographic’s top 13 photographers in the country only adds to his resume.
The win came with the bragging rights and a $1,000 cash prize.
