Manitoulin Island OPP has charged an Islander following an incident where a teen shot himself in the foot.
OPP Constable Tessa Kasch says a week ago Monday, police were called to a residence on South Line Road on Barrie Island where a firearm was discharged.
Kasch says the investigation revealed that at approximately 2:00 am in the morning, an 18-year-old teen discharged a firearm subsequently striking themselves in the foot.
The male teen from Barrie Island was charged with careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
He was treated and released from hospital and is to appear in Gore Bay Court January 26th.
