LU researchers awarded $50,000 to address vaccine confidence in Northern Ontario

Laurentian University staff will be addressing vaccine confidence throughout Northern Ontario.

With financial support from the feds, university researchers will be travelling across the north to enhance confidence in vaccination use in workplaces and communities.

Director of the Science Communication Graduate Program Dr. Chantal Barriault says some people are hesitant and still have qualms about getting the vaccine.

She adds the $50,000 grant will be used by the team to travel to communities and talk about COVID-19 risk mitigation, all while encouraging confidence in the vaccination program.

Barriault says the team will use the CROSH Mobile Research Lab, custom-designed to conduct health and safety outreach and research during the travels.
