Ontario’s chief medical officer of health says he expects another surge in COVID-19 cases in September.
But Doctor Kieran Moore says they’re already taking steps to deal with the increase.
Moore says infections will rise as people head back indoors when cooler weather arrives.
But he notes the vast majority of new cases will be among those who aren’t vaccinated.
The biggest problem, Moore says, is young people.
He notes that, over the last three months, 96 percent of the new diagnoses among those aged 20 to 29 were not vaccinated.
For those 12 to 17, the proportion was even higher, 99 percent were not inoculated.
