Another First Nation walk is taking place on Highway 17 this week.
Rainbow Warriors are on a special walk in honour of the Every Child Matters movement and in honour of getting back to Creator’s original teachings.
The group started out on Father’s Day from Whitefish and is making their way to Whitefish Island in Sault Ste. Marie.
The island is a historic site.
According to the Canadian Government, eight successive cultures have occupied the site on the St. Mary’s River, culminating in the development of the Ojibway Nation.
Last week, the Rainbow Warriors stopped outside the Webbwood Public Library to rest on their long journey.
The Warriors hope to complete their walk by the end of the week.
