Trespass investigation leads to drug bust in Sagamok

The Sagamok First Nation Detachment has made two arrests following an investigation into a trespass complaint.

Sgt. Chantal Larocque says police responded to a report of someone trespassing at a known cottage in the community of Sagamok First Nation.

She says upon arrival police found two people who claimed they had permission to be there, but an investigation proved that not to be true.

Both were arrested and drugs, over $16,000 in cash, weapons and cell phones were seized.

Larocque says a 37-year-old man from Webbwood and a 40-year-old woman from Espanola have been charged with three counts each of trafficking opioids, cocaine and methamphetamine, possession of property obtained through crime and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The woman was also charged with two counts of breach.

Abdi Ali Mohamed and Samantha St. Michael were remanded into custody awaiting a bail hearing.
