Thousands of customers throughout the North Shore corridor were without internet and cable services.
Yesterday, Eastlink Cable and Internet services went down in the morning due to a planned outage by Hydro One and Espanola Hydro.
However, when the utilities restored the power, the Eastlink systems remained down in Espanola, across Rainbow Country, and west to Elliot Lake and Blind River.
Eastlink’s recorded phone message told customers they were aware of a problem and technicians were fixing it, apologizing for the inconvenience.
The systems were restored for most users this morning.
