The revamped Elliot Lake Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League team now known as the Red Wings will meet with council tonight.
The Wildcats were revamped, renamed and reorganized in the last couple of weeks and councillor Ed Pearce will be talking to his counterparts this evening to clear up a debt from the former organization.
He says the club still owes half of the $100,000 loan made back in 2014, as well as $25,000 it borrowed from ELNOS.
He says they want to reduce the debt by $10,000 every year, as well as have ice fees offset by $10,000 a season, which would eliminate the debt to the city in five years.
Pearce adds ELNOS has already agreed to a similar debt retirement plan.
Council gets underway virtually at 7:00 pm tonight.
