Man charged for passing funny money

A Sudbury man faces fraud charges after phony $100 U.S. bills were passed at a drug store in Sturgeon Falls.  The man and a friend bought more than $500 in goods at the drug store then tried returning them at a sister store in Sudbury.  But the clerk didn’t have enough money to issue a refund so the men left empty-handed.  They were back two days later again trying to return the items but now the Sudbury drug store knew the men used funny money in Sturgeon Falls.  Police were called and they arrested one of the men.  He’s looking at two counts of fraud and possession of property obtained by crime.
