Introducing Chief Elect Alan Ozawanimke

Sagamok-Anishnawbek First Nation’s Chief Elect comes with plenty of experience in governance and financial known how.
Chief Elect Adam Ozawanimke has a Bachelor of Arts in governance from Ryerson University and has built up a resume over the years including CEO of the Union of Ontario Indians and the North Shore Tribal Council.
He has also worked with several other indigenous boards in the North Shore corridor as well as being the former CEO of the First Nation, a position he held until last year.
He believes his experience as a volunteer for youth, negotiation and leadership skills and improvements to the community’s economy and health access stands him in good stead for the work ahead.
Ozawanimke is to be sworn in as the new chief later this fall.
