The Rainbow District School board has reached a tentative deal with its secondary school teachers.
The board has reached a deal with Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation District #3, which has some 300 permanent teachers on Manitoulin Island, Espanola, Massey and Sudbury.
Rainbow board chair Doreen Dewar commended the bargaining teams for working together to achieve this tentative agreement with students first and foremost.
She says the details of the deal will be released once the teachers ratify the deal and the trustees approve it.
If approved, the deal will be in effect retroactive to September 1st, 2019 and expiring August 31st, 2022.
Other districts across the province are also finalizing their deals aligning with the provincial settlement reached at the central bargaining table last month.
