The Special Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal shooting in Elliot Lake.
Elliot Lake OPP Constable Phil Young says Monday morning at around 11:15 am, the police responded to a wanted person call at an office on Philip Walk in Elliot Lake.
He says during the police interaction, the person discharged a firearm and was fatally injured.
Young says the OPP notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit, which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information.
