Barns pepper the North Shore corridor and in light of that, Massey 4-H is taking on a unique project making quilts featuring the structures.
4-H spokesperson, Dianne Emiry says they are looking for local barn owners to take part in the Sables-Spanish Rivers 4-H Quilt Project.
She says 4-H members will make up to 15 quilts during a two-day workshop in May.
Emiry says the local history of the farmers and their families, as well as their barn, will be part of the research the members will be doing as part of the project.
She adds the quilts will be put on display once they are completed.
Anyone interested in having their barn be a part of the project is asked to call Emiry at 865-2561 for details. The members will be learning about the process, looking a barn quilt patterns, and starting their farm research projects.
