There will be a pause in rotating strikes by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation until at least March 27th.
Union President Harvey Bischof says with so many student events planned around and during the March break, the union members feel a pause in strike actions is appropriate at this time.
However, he adds members will expand their withdrawal of administrative services affecting extra-curricular activities today.
The union is to hold talks with the provincial government tomorrow and Wednesday.
Meantime, the Elementary Teachers Federation plans to announce Phase Seven of their job action later today.
It will launch on March 23rd when students return from spring break.
The union had suspended rotating strikes for two weeks and launched a public relations campaign to try to gain public support.
