Elementary and adult literacy students from one school board will be missing a day of school this week due to strike action.
Algoma District School Board communication officer Fran Walsh says the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario will be on the picket lines for one day, this Thursday.
She adds elementary schools will be closed and the adult literacy and basic skills program will not be offered on that day either.
Walsh says Friday is a professional development day, so students will return to school on Monday.
No other unions plan job action at this time.
