Sudbury OPP says, three children, all siblings, are dead following a single-vehicle collision on New Year’s Day.
Sudbury OPP Constable Michelle Coulombe says two of the six passengers were pronounced dead at the scene: 11-year-old Destiny Osagie and 10-year-old Flourish Osagie.
Coulombe adds a third passenger, 6-year-old Britney Osagie was transported to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
She says the other two passengers, a 10-year-old male with serious injuries and a 45-year-old female with non-life threatening injuries were also taken to hospital.
Coulombe adds the 45-year-old driver was uninjured and all the occupants were from Chelmsford.
She says the collision occurred just before nine am on New Year’s Day near the Highway 144 exchange on Highway 17 when the vehicle struck guide rails.
The westbound lanes were closed for seven hours while the police carried the investigation.
