Conseil scolaire Catholique Nouvelon was front and centre at WE Day in Ottawa.
Board communication director, Paul de la Riva says two Blind River students from Jeunesse Nord were invited to take the stage to present their school’s Serenity Room at the conference last week.
He says it is a relaxation area that has been designed to provide a safe and quiet place for students who are having a hard time and has been very successful over the last three years. .
He says the students described how various tools such as colouring books, quiet music, blankets and community agency leaflets promote well-being and good mental health.
The winning strategy will now be considered for adoption by other schools.
