Several communities on Manitoulin Island were left without power following a motor collision.
Manitoulin OPP Constable Marie Ford says around 1:00 pm on Wednesday, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a commercial motor vehicle on Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation.
As a result of the collision, Highway 540 had to be shut down while Hydro One repaired down lines.
She says the 24-year-old driver from Little Current has been charged with careless driving.
He was uninjured in the collision.
