Save AB Ellis Committee looking at incorporation

There are several legal hoops to jump through before the Save AB Ellis Public School Committee can move forward with its plans for the school in Espanola.

Committee spokesperson, Fred Yackman, says the committee was thrilled to learn the property has been declared surplus by the Rainbow District School Board.

Moving forward, he says the committee is looking at incorporation as a not-for-profit board, as well as carrying out a detailed costing for conversion, which would be done as part of a feasibility study.

He says they also have to talk to the board about their timeline.

Sacred Heart School is temporarily housed in the building while construction continues on their new school.

Yackman adds another meeting of the committee will take place October 16th and anyone interested in the project are more than welcome to take it in at the United Church.
