Elliot Lake will have several Wi-Fi hotspots by the end of the summer.
On Monday night, city I.T. Manager Robyn Scott told council there are 13 locations where the Wi-Fi hot spot service will be provided by the end of August.
City hall, other municipally-owned buildings, parks and public facilities, such as the airport and fire tower will be hotwired for the new service with more to be rolled out in 2020.
She also told them the addition of video cameras at remote sites would allow the City to stream video from remote points, for a relatively inexpensive investment.
Scott adds the new Wi-Fi zones will be marked with street signage.
