Snow concerns continue – Elliot Lake and Espanola

Two municipalities continue to deal with snow load challenges.

In Espanola, a public meeting into the formation of an Economic Development Commission has to be moved from the complex to the municipal office board room.

Espanola EDO, Cheryl Kennelly, says the two sessions will be held today (Wednesday): at 1:30pm and 6:00pm and the public is invited to attend to submit their comments.

The complex remains closed until the engineer and town building inspector remove the order.

Meanwhile, Elliot Lake city CAO, Daniel Gagnon, says last week’s rain and melt caused some leaking at city hall over the council chambers and affected the live feed equipment.
Some damage was identified on the roof, likely from recent snow removal efforts and is being repaired.

He anticipates the repairs to be done this week and regular televising of meetings to resume in time for council on March 25th.
