Missing Person Awareness Day was held on Manitoulin Island and Sudbury.
On Thursday, community members were invited to an all-day event Thursday on Manitoulin Island regarding missing persons.
The UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service and OPP hosted the Missing Person Awareness Day, with funding provided by the Indigenous Justice Division of the Ministry of the Attorney General.
The OPP stated in a press release the day was an opportunity community and police to work together and remove barriers to reporting a missing person, as well as help in finding and identifying loved ones.
A vigil for missing and murdered Indigenous women was also held in Sudbury.
