Former Deputy Mayor Jill Beer is running for mayor in Espanola.
High school teacher and professional engineer, Beer was first elected as a councillor in 2010 and was sworn in as deputy mayor having the highest number of votes of the six members that year.
She made a bid in 2014 for mayor, but lost against incumbent Mayor Ron Piche who is also seeking a second term of office.
The election is slated for October 22nd.
