Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics winds its way west

It was a busy windup to the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The torch wound its way from Mindemoya on Manitoulin Island with stopovers in Espanola, Elliot Lake and Blind River on Friday, capping of its journey at the International Bridge in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday.

The final amount of money raised was still unknown as of press time Monday.

Since its inception in 1987 in Ontario, the Law Enforcement Torch Run has raised more than $35 million.
