Elliot Lake Mayor Dan Marchisella has announced his intention to run for another term.
Back in 2014, he won the race with 2, 028 votes, that is almost double his nearest opponent’s results.
Marchisella says if re-elected to a second term, he would like to continue with initiatives started in this term including the construction of a new multi-recreational hub, reaching an equitable working relationship with Serpent River First Nation in terms of development and economic growth and upgrades to the infrastructure, such as roads and sewers.
Candidates have until late July to announce their candidacy.
