Despite almost three dozen cancellations, Canadian Blood Services still walked away with a healthy dose of units from Blind River. The agency collected 74 units which it says will help save many lives. Most of the last minute openings took place during the last hour of the four hour event. Canadian Blood Services says Blind River residents heard the call for help and stepped up to the plate.
