Energy minister Glenn Thibeault says the province is committed to helping homeowners and businesses with their electricity bills. Thibeault re-announced the Liberal Throne Speech to rebate us the PST part of our hydro bills. If you’re a rural property owner, the rebate would average $540 a year. It’s about $130 annually for non- rural homeowners. Thibeault announced the details in Sudbury on Tuesday which he also represents as an MPP. Thibeault says also benefitting from the announcement would be industrial, commercial and institutional ratepayers. The rebate plan is expected to take effect next January.
