The move to save the A.B. Ellis Public School building begins on Wednesday. Residents are joining together to protect the building from the wrecking ball by having it declared a heritage site. Sharon Sproule is one of those leading the charge and she says the school could be converted into a multi-use centre including using its stage. The 90-year-old structure is to be demolished next year. The Save A.B. Ellis committee has a meeting this evening to talk about how to save the school. It’s at the Espanola United Church and begins at 7:30pm.
