Charges laid in barricade incident

A police standoff in Mattawa has resulted in a charge of aggravated assault against a 34-year-old Mattawa man.  The incident began after another man was stabbed last Thursday followed by the accused barricading himself inside a home.  Police evacuated nearby homeowners as a precaution while they tried convincing the man to surrender.  They succeeded after several hours and the 34-year-old was arrested.  As for the victim, he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
