The Globe and Mail has learned what a road will cost to the Ring of Fire. The all-season road would cost a minimum of $264-million to a maximum of $559-milllion. A major reason why the cost varies is based on whether the road would be paved and specific routes.
The federal and provincial governments paid for the $785,000. Four First Nations in the Ring of Fire region carried out the study but its results were not made public even though the report was finished in June. However, the Globe got a copy of the 147-page study and released the road costs.
