Number of forest fires easing up

Firefighters with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry are getting a break.  No new fires broke out on Sunday for the Northeast Region and a small fire that started on Saturday in Algonquin Park is out.  A larger fire in Algonquin Park estimated at 48 hectares is under control.

Crews with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry used infrared scans on the larger fire to make sure there are no hot spots at the site.  For the most part, the fire hazard in the northeast is low to moderate.
