Bruce Mines woman facing charges for allegedly defrauding the library

A 40-year-old Bruce Mines woman faces numerous charges after the library in Bruce Mines was defrauded of thousands of dollars. The OPP in East Algoma says the accused used the library’s bank accounts and credit cards for personal use.

Exactly how much money was accessed has not been released but considering the nature of the charges, the amount is quite a bit. The woman is charged with fraud over $5,000 and theft over $5,000. She’s also charged with use of revoked credit card, personation with intent and breach of trust by a public officer.

The library called the East Algoma OPP last November about a possible fraud at the facility and investigators began looking into the matter.
