Heat warning continues

It’s a third straight day of a heating warning in much of Northern Ontario.  The Sudbury and District Health Unit is again telling people to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.  If you can, get yourself to an air conditioned outlet and remember to wear loose-fitting clothing.  And if you need to be outside, make sure you wear a hat with a wide brim and stick to loose-fitting clothes.

The health unit asks that you look in on elderly neighbours to make sure they’re coping with the heat.  Today’s temperature will generate humidex values in the very high 30s.  That could create heat stroke which could be fatal for some people.  Also, if you’re driving, don’t leave your kids or pets in the vehicle with the ignition off because the interior heat will climb to killer levels.
