Brush burning still not allowed in Sables-Spanish River

The fire ban may be lifted in Sables-Spanish River, but the fire department says brush burning is still not allowed. The fire chief says the ban is lifted for those wanting to have a camp fire, or barbecue on their property. Officials say the ground is too dry for brush burning still, and a wildfire could be sparked.

The fire department is also reminding those taking advantage of the lifted ban for campfires to have a water source nearby, and make sure it’s completely out before leaving.
