Growing number of rabies in southern Ontario prompts another warning from the SDHU

The Sudbury and District Health Unit is reminding the public to report any bites or scratches from animals. This comes on the heels of a growing number of reports of rabies in southern Ontario. The SDHU says foxes, raccoons, skunks, and bats are the main carriers. However, household pets are a link to spreading the disease to humans.

The SDHU says to report any bite or scratch to your local health unit, and ensure all of your own animals are vaccinated.
