MNRF retires two popular service dogs

After many years of service, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is retiring two of its dogs.  The dogs are Tanner, a 10-year-old male mix retriever and nine-year-old Cinder, who is a female black lab.

The canines were trained as police dogs and did things like recover evidence and track people and both Tanner and Cinder have been commended many times over the years.  In one instance they were given a lifesaving award for finding an elderly lost hiker.  The dogs will now spend the rest of their lives with their respective handlers.
