New Democrat MPP’s looking for Energy Minister to order gas price monitoring

The New Democrat MPPs which signed an open letter to Ontario’s new Energy Minister, Glenn Thibeault, are shedding more light on the meeting they’ve called for. The five, who include Gilles Bisson from Timmins-James Bay and John Vanthof of Timiskaming-Cochrane, are reminding Thibeault that when he was a federal MP, he was vocal on the high price of gas.

Now the MPPs say Thibeault is in a position to do something.

They want him to order the Ontario Energy Board to start monitoring gas prices and reduce volatility. They also want Thibeault to increase competition and want to meet with him on how to get gas prices in the north under control.
